As with many COTFA releases, this album is concerned with tales of the sea. In this case the fascinating and truly tragic story of Donald Crowhurst and his ill fated circumnavigation of the globe. The album concentrates on the latter part of Crowhurst's voyage as desperation turned to deception and ultimately delusion and madness.

An incredible tale and one I highly recommend reading up on if you're unfamiliar with it.

I finished recording this well over a year ago but thought I'd lost the files, only re-discovering them recently. Now, listening to it with fresh ears I think it's one of COTFA's best, most coherent works. I'd recommend listening to the whole thing in one sitting with headphones.
